Description of ReNTOX<\/span><\/p>\n

The drug is a lyophilized white powder for injection, in a colorless transparent bottle, when diluted with saline, it is a clear liquid.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Muscle relaxant of peripheral action, which contains purified botulinum toxin type A. The mechanism of action of the drug is based on the ability of botulinum toxin type A to block the transmission of nerve impulses. Intramuscular injection of toxin disrupts the synthesis of acetylcholine (a neurotransmitter that provides neuromuscular conduction) and leads to temporary paralysis of facial muscles. Reducing facial expression helps to relax the face and smooth out wrinkles.<\/span><\/p>\n

Indications for use<\/span><\/p>\n

Temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe wrinkles associated with mimic activity in adult patients aged 18 to 65 years.<\/span><\/p>\n

The restrictions on the use of Botulax are the same as for other drugs based on botulinum toxin type A:<\/span><\/p>\n

Dosages<\/span><\/h3>\n

For
\n blepharospasm the initial recommended dose is 1.25 – 2.5 U (0.05 mL to
\n0.1 mL volume at each site) injected into the medial and lateral
\npre-tarsal orbicularis oculi of the upper lid and into the lateral
\npre-tarsal orbicularis oculi of the lower lid. For pediatric cerebral
\npalsy, a total dose of 4U\/kg bodyweight is recommended for the affected
\ngastrocnemius muscle in patients with hemiplegia. And in patients with
\ndiplegia, the recommended dose is 6U\/kg bodyweight divided between both
\nlegs. The maximum dose administered must not exceed 200U\/patient at a
\ntime. For Glabellar \u043c\u043e\u0440\u0449\u0438\u043d\u044bs reconstituted sterile saline. 20U is used
\nand there are additional application instructions for best practice,
\nactual amounts vary on the presentation of the client.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Effects<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

In
\n Blepharospasm, the effects should appear within three days and peak
\nafter three weeks. For pediatric cerebral palsy applications, the
\nexpectation is improvement within four weeks of the injection. The
\neffects vary for glabellar \u043c\u043e\u0440\u0449\u0438\u043d\u044bs due to the usually individualized
\ndosages.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Precautions<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

There
\n is the possibility of reactions at the site of an injection, and
\neffects beyond the injection site, including but not limited to
\nasthenia, generalized muscle weakness, diplopia, ptosis, dysphagia,
\ndysphonia, dysarthria, urinary incontinence and breathing difficulties.
\n Serious hypersensitivity has been reported as rare. There is a caution
\n for people with pre-existing neuromuscular disorders, and for those
\nwith corneal exposure and ulceration in blepharospasm. <\/span>Botulium Toxin \u0442\u0438\u043f\u0430 \u0410<\/span> is
\n not to be administered at all if a patient has a known allergy to any
\nof the ingredients, or if the patients have neuromuscular junctional
\ndisorders or known to have adverse reactions. They should not be
\nadministered while taking muscle relaxants and some antibiotics.
\nFurther, the actual effects of prolonged use are not entirely explored.
\n There is also additional advice for the specific therapeutic conditions
\n mentioned, as this description is not comprehensive.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In the case of overdose<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

In
\n the case of an overdose it has been advised that effects may not be
\nimmediate. It is further advised that the patient be monitored for
\nmuscle weakness and\/or paralysis for a period of weeks after the
\noccurrence. There is an anti-toxin available but the caution with the
\nanti-toxin is that it will not reduce any already apparent effects.<\/span><\/p>\n
